Official Wales Rally GB Tour - 2017

(Thursday 26th - Sunday 29th October 2017)

Avoid the worst of the traffic and the walks into the forest by joining us on our Wales Rally GB Escorted Tour! As the Official Tour provider for the event we have unrivalled knowledge & access to the best of the rally stages and events.

From Thursday evening to Sunday afternoon it will be almost non-stop rallying action, with your Rally Travel Tour Guide on hand to keep you up to date with all the news and results as we follow the event through the iconic 'RAC Rally' forests by comfortable mini-coach.
Our status as the Official Tour Provider means we have access to some exclusive viewing areas, including in 2016 the only 'non-spectator' stage on the rally!

For UK based guests who would like to join us directly at our hotel in Oswestry, rather than at Manchester airport, we also include a transfer back to the hotel after the rally finishes.

Please click on the Red Button above, or call our Reservations Team on 01765 640055 to book your package.

Day 1 - Thursday 26th October 2017

*09/05/2017 - Please note the WynnStay Hotel is now sold out - bookings taken now are for the 4 star Lion Quays Hotel.
Prior to the rally week we send our tour groups a copy of our fantastic Rally Information Pack which contains full details of the tour, a review of the WRC season so far, and an informative 'History of Rally GB'.

At 13:00 the Rally Travel Tour Guide will meet with the group at Manchester airport*, before escorting the guests down to the England-Wales border town of Oswestry. After checking-in to the 4 star WynnStay hotel in the centre of Oswestry there will be an informal pre-event briefing and then time to take enjoy the excellent leisure facilities at the hotel. In the evening we will visit the Ceremonial Start in North Wales, and (if scheduled for 2017) the Autograph show which is a great chance for that all important 'Selfie' with the WRC stars!

*Guests can if they prefer meet us directly at the Hotel.

Day 2 - Friday 27th October (Sweet Lamb stages & Service Area!)

On the opening full day of the rally we usually visit the legendary 'Sweet Lamb' Hafren stages. Viewing at 'Sweet Lamb' is one of the most open in the WRC with plenty of opportunities to see the cars in action for an extended period of time. In between the 2 runs through of the stage Guests can either stay to watch the National Rally crews through the stage, or join an optional excursion to the warmth (and dryness!) of a local, traditional Welsh Pub!

After the 2nd run through the challenging 'Sweet Lamb' stage we usually head to Deeside for the first proper Service Halt of the rally as the cars return to the team areas after a long day in the Mid-Wales forests.

Day 3 - Saturday 28th October (Exclusive Viewing Area!)

In 2016 our status as the Official Spectator Tour for Wales Rally GB enabled us to exclusively access the only 'non-spectator' stage of the rally, allowing our guests a fantastic view of the action away from the crowds!
Usually we visit 2 or 3 stages on the Saturday of the rally, including in 2016 the RallyFest 'Special Stage' at Cholmondeley Castle.

In the evening back at Oswestry there are many restaurants and bars within walking distance of the hotel, although most Guests tend to choose to while the hours away in the evening in the cosy hotel bar, swapping stories from the rallying world over a drink or two!

Day 4 - Sunday 29th October (Lake Brenig, PowerStage & Podium!)

We'll be on hand on the final morning of the rally to see two stages, centred around the dramatic PowerStage. In 2016 this was the Brenig stage which included a wide, open spectator viewing area and gave us some terrific 'VIP' access to the PowerStage Podium at the end of the rally.

Our status as the Official Wales Rally GB Tour Provider ensures access to the stage as close as possible to the viewing area, making for a civilised end to the week's rally spectating. After all, no one likes a long wet walk at the end of a WRC weekend!
Finally, we return back to Wynnstay Hotel in Oswestry for around 15:00, and then onto Manchester airport for 17:00 for those flying home that evening.
