Day 1, Wednesday - Arrival & Spectating Presentation

Our Bus Transfer departs Barcelona airport at 17:00 for a journey of approximately 90 minutes down to the Rally HQ town of Salou and the 4 star Regina Gran hotel, our base for the tour.

In the evening* we usually schedule a Spectating Presentation at the hotel, with a Special Guest from the WRC to ensure our Guests get the latest News & Gossip from inside the sport.

In 2015 Hyundai WRC Driver Hayden Padden entertained us along with WRC TV's Julian Porter, whilst in 2016 we had Mads Ostberg & Eric Camilli from M-Sport!

*With the recently confirmed absence of the Barcelona street stage we may reschedule our Welcome Evening for Thursday, allowing more time to check-in and relax on Wednesday evening.

Day 2, Thursday - Shakedown, Service Area & Ceremonial Start!

Our rally tour proper will begin with a visit to the Shakedown stage (Last 3 years this has been just across the road from our Hotel!) escorted by the Rally Travel Guides, then a short bus transfer to the Service Area for a first 'up close' look at the exciting 2017 World Rally Cars.

There will be plenty of time to have a good look around the Service Park, and usually the crowds are smaller here on the Shakedown day giving more opportunites for autographs and selfies with the WRC stars!

In the afternoon we will have a special guest from the WRC along to talk to our guests at the hotel, and then later in the evening the group will walk down to the sea-front in Salou for the ceremonial start and any other promotional events which may be scheduled in the host town now that the Barcelona street stage will not be running.

Day 3, Friday - 2 Fantastic Gravel Stages + WRC Service Area!

Whilst the itinerary for 2017 has yet to be confirmed, in 2016 we visited the gravel stages on the first full day of Rally Spain, which are some of the best in the WRC from a spectator's perspective.

We visited a fantastic fast & flowing section on the Terra Alta stage where the cars blasted along a gravel section of stage, super-fast in places reminiscent of Finland and with plenty of open viewing for our spectator groups.

In 2015 in the afternoon we visited the Pessells Stage for more action before heading back to Salou for the WRC Service Area and our optional VIP visit to the M-Sport Ford World Rally Team to watch close-up as the cars were converted from gravel to asphalt specification ready for the next day's stages.
During the short journey back our hotel the Rally Travel Tour Guides will detail the evening's happenings and the latest news and gossip behind the scenes as the crews complete their service visits.

Day 4, Saturday - 2 Classic Tarmac Stages

Whilst the itinerary for 2017 has yet to be finally confirmed, Saturday always features some of the classic Rally Catalunya asphalt stages such as El Priorat and Colldejou, and we tend to go for quality over quantity on this day and concentrate on delivering two of the classic Catalan tarmac stages that are in the area.

Saturday normally is the 'make or break' day for the crews as those drivers disadvantaged through their start order on the opening gravel day have a chance to fight back and get into a position to challenge for the lead on the final day. The tarmac stages on this rally are fast and furious with little margin for error, and the best of the tarmac drivers usually come to the fore one way or another...

Day 5, Sunday - 2 Tarmac Stages, Podium ... and After-Rally Parties!

Whilst the itinerary for 2017 has yet to be confirmed, in 2016 we enjoyed an action packed final day of the rally including viewing the 2 tarmac stages at the legendary Ruidecanyes stage (complete with much drifting around the roundabouts!) before returning to Salou for the finish of the rally.

In the evening Guests were invited to join us at the various bars and nightclubs in Salou where the WRC drivers joined in with the 'After-Rally Parties'.

Day 6, Monday - Return airport transfer & the journey home.

A reasonably late departure and check-out from the 4 star Regina Gran Hotel (10am in 2016), and then the return bus journey to Barcelona airport where we aim to arrive at 12:00noon to enable Guests to meet their flight connections home.

The Rally Travel Tour Guides will ensure all guests are fully up to date with the final results and news from the rally before they begin their journey home, as they will have done during all the previous day's of the rally handing out result sheets and stage information to each group.

Flight Options for 2017 - Airport Transfers

BARCELONA airport - For 2017 we will be including an airport transfer from the main Barcelona Airport ('El Prat' airport code: BCN).

Transfer times are 17:00 on Wednesday 4th October 2017 from the airport, returning back there for 12:00 on Monday 9th.

There are good public transfer links between Barcelona and Salou should guests want to arrive/depart at different times.

REUS airport - As this airport (www.ryanair.com) is only 12km from Salou we would suggest Guests take the public bus service from the airport to our Hotel or our Reservations Team (tel. 01765 640055) can assist in pre-booking a Taxi for the short journey.
